I first came across Facet5 in 2010 when I completed the assessment myself, naturally approaching it with a certain degree of scepticism. I am one of those who loves analysing myself and human relations, so phychology has always been my area of interest. However, I also always was quite sceptical about all kind of personality assesment tools. Everyhting changed when after joining Peikko in 2017, I met Jūratė and Finn from IPM, got FACET5 practitioner‘s acreditation and took over Peikko‘s FACET5 platform management.

At Peikko Group FACET5 personality assesment tool has been used for more than a decade, hundreds of colleagues from almost 30 countries in the world have their profiles, some of them even more than one or two! This tool helps us identify the potential of individual employees when planning their careers or making training plans. In recruitments it helps to better know the candidates and find the best possible match between the new hire and the position. FACET5 is also extremely valuable for better mutual understanding and accepting of our differences in the team: none of us is perfect, but our differences can help us learn from each other and achieve better results together!

I myself have maybe 5 FACET5 profiles by now and can clearly see how my profile was changing since the start of my career in Peikko, what external and internal factors influenced those changes, and how consciously I was influencing those changes myself. People often say it is impossible to change your personality, but my opinion is a bit different. Yes, we cannot change our temperament and the genetic patterns of how our nervous system works (by the way, to identify that I also went through numerous tests, such as DisC, Eneagram, MBTI etc.). But through conscious self-reflection and learning we can change our behavior and attitudes, and this will have influence on our personality. FACET5 tool can help us here, because it says that the FACET5 personality profile can change in response to the changing life conditions. If we do not develop our personality consciously, simply “life happens” and we change not necessarily to the direction which is healthy for us and our environment. Or if we are stubborn and do not want to change, the only thing that’s left is to do is complain about life which is moving forward and leaving us behind…

I am very happy that in Peikko we already have several internal FACET5 practitioners, which allows us to broadly utilize FACET5 tool in all Peikko world. Through all those years we already can see the long term positive influence to Peikko’s culture, organizational maturity and management quality.
